Job Title: Support Engineer Position Location: Raleigh, NC - Hybrid 60% remote Your impact: As the Support Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to use your strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills as well as your IT aptitude and knowledge to support the IT infrastructure and related technology administration platforms. You'll ensure the smooth operation of IT centric services in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the business, our members, employees, clients, and partners. You'll provide focused technical support, with guidance from senior team members, for datacenter technologies such as servers, virtual systems, storage, backups, routers, switches, and wireless controllers. You'll also be as sisting other engineers with technical projects and operational support activities. The contributions you can anticipate making: Performing daily monitoring of IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of systems by reviewing logs, verifying systems integrity, escalating discovered issues with senior team members, and driving remediation activities. Engineering various systems such as backups, virtual desktop environment, physical desktop imaging/deployment, etc. Supporting the Engineering team with the on-going development and maturation of IT enterprise systems management processes and operation while aligning with all business activities and goals. Assisting in the data gathering, design implementation, and documentation of small/medium size IT based projects. Participating in solution engineering activities including concept definition, requirements analysis, design, development, integration, installation, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning. Assisting the Engineering team in development of the Network Management Program and complying with its standards and rule sets. Continually identifying, assessing, and escalating technology deficiencies to the Engineering team. Quantifying and modeling impact characteristics within the company to establish meaningful, actionable impact categories. Establishing metrics to evaluate and measure the trends of impacts and effectiveness of services provided. Assisting with IT infrastructure performance tuning. To be successful in this role, you will be: A detail oriented person who enjoys analyzing and interpreting processes or data, seeing patterns, and communicating recommendations for remedy. An individual who derives satisfaction from taking a concern or problem and seeing it through to resolution. Someone who enjoys building rapport with others. An organized individual for whom time management and the ability to establish priorities comes naturally. Someone who enjoys technical writing. A person who is available and willing to work evenings or weekends if necessary. Interested? Here's what we need to see on your resume: Experience: Two years' experience with the implementation, operation, and support of enterprise IT technologies (Cisco, VMware, and Microsoft); four years preferred. Three years IT systems support experience. Proficiency with scripting, HTML, MS-Office, and Visio are preferred. Experience with the technological aspects of a depository institution is highly desirable. Education: Formal training and education in technology related studies. Related college degree or equivalent work experience preferred. At least one of the following certifications is desired: CCNA, CompTIA A+ or Network+.
