Senior Product Development Manager

Position WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing in the western U.S. and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, competitive pay, and outstanding benefits. The product team has an immediate opening for someone who can support the large commercial unit as a full-time Senior Product Development Manager, reporting to the Director, Product Development. This posting is open to internal and external candidates. This position could be remote. If remote, the person in this position must be willing to travel to the Salt Lake City area a few times a year. Responsibilities Collaborates closely with external and internal stakeholders (agents, underwriters, account managers, consultants, etc.) to identify target market segments and customer needs. Evaluates product opportunities from a strategic and financial perspective by analyzing market needs and insurance trends. Recommends product opportunities and works with stakeholders to prioritize them. Leads project team(s) to bring product(s) to market, including but not limited to appetite definition, coverage definition, rating definition, system buildout, regulatory and business readiness activities. Collaborates with state product managers, sales leaders and others to create and implement growth and profit strategies and tactics. Monitor market signals and stakeholder feedback. Provide product expertise for underwriting, sales, claims and other departments. Create and maintain strong, positive working relationships with other departments. Qualifications Expertise in General Liability insurance coverages and forms required. Strong knowledge of Property, Inland Marine, and Commercial Package policies. Five or more years of commercial insurance experience in product, underwriting, claims or program management positions. Three years of product development work. Experience in the creation of forms and manuscripts required. Experience with loss sensitive programs (deductible, retrospective rating plans) preferred. Experience in excess liability, reinsurance, and towers preferred. Deep knowledge of commercial insurance markets and regulation required. Knowledge of captive insurance programs and/or CCIPs is a plus. Outstanding presentation and communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated commitment to quality. Bachelor's degree in business, risk management, economics, engineering, insurance, math, statistics, or a similar field of study; master's degree preferred. WCF Insurance offers an extensive compensation package. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, company paid life insurance, 401K with a generous 6% employer match and additional benefits such as an Employee Assistance Program and time off to volunteer. All employees earn 4 weeks of vacation their first year. Expected salary for the position is $90,000 to $130,000 depending on location , experience, and education. An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they've applied for the position.
