Description:
Brief Job Description: Prepares food and makes sure Servers deliver each dish to Members in a timely manner. Responsible for their stations' workflow and getting meals out on time. Oversea the cooking process from start to finish. Ensure consistent and steady completion of meals that meet and exceed expectations. Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. Set up, maintain, and break down workstations. Uses food preparation equipment accordingly. Ensure workstations and equipment are clean and sanitary. Proper breakdown & cleaning of the assigned station after every shift: counters, shelves, trash, and floors Organize station coolers/freezers & check dates. Communicate with the Chef on needed equipment and supplies. Cleans assigned work area and kitchen. Assist dishwashers as needed. Candidate Qualifications: Must have strong experience in a fine dining kitchen, ideally a catering kitchen. Proficiency in the following cooking techniques: charbroiling, poaching, deep frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking. Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use of each. Ability to follow a recipe and provide consistency in the final product. Accuracy and speed in executing tasks. Knife skills. Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene. Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be detail oriented, extremely organized, and great at time management. Reliable, responsible and a team player. Ability to communicate and understand the directions of management. Customer Service Work well under pressure. Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
