Environmental Remediation Specialist **Future Opportunity** CSEngineering is hiring an Environmental Remediation Specialist to support the DHS at Oakland, CA. The purpose of this position is to provide the necessary level of administrative, professional, and technical support required in the area of remediation services to facilitate the overall objectives of CEUO. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The primary work product will be the execution of CEUO's Environmental Compliance and Restoration program. Under direction of the CEU Environmental Management Branch Chief and the Remediation Program Manager: Conduct site visits, review DHS reports, and coordinate with CEU, SILC, and other DHS staff to prioritize projects. Draft scopes of work in coordination with CEU environmental and contracting staff; support development of independent government estimates; support contracting and award with technical background as needed; participate in project kickoff and management under direction from Remediation Program Manager. Review contractor submittals for technical and legal sufficiency, and provide technical support in answering questions and resolving conflicts. Support consultation with regulatory agencies through meetings, phone calls, and written analysis. Collaborate with managers, other environmental specialists, construction project managers, legal staff, contract specialists and contractor personnel, and provide advice and insight on the resolution of unique and complex contaminated site cleanup problems and disputes. Design and manage special projects as assigned by the Branch Chief. Provide environmental compliance support for other projects as assigned. Regular verbal and written updates of project status will be a routine aspect of coordinating all assigned tasks. Review and comment on contracted work to include (but not be limited to) Preliminary Assessments, Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessments, Decision Documents, Design Documents, Construction Reports, and Completion Reports. Specific Deliverables include but are not limited to: Trip Reports Draft Scopes of Work Draft cost estimates Technical memorandum evaluating contractor submittals for technical and legal sufficiency. Meeting minutes and agendas Written and verbal reports on project status Monthly reports summarizing project work. 5-year site review memos REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology from an ABET accredited university, or a closely related degree. Minimum of 1 year experience in the environmental remediation/restoration field. Must have prior experience conducting environmental remediation work, and familiarity with the requirements of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Knowledge of Windows 10, MS Office, MS Teams Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
