Salary: $93,922 - $116,165 Grade: 26 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc., at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) is seeking an Associate Director of Digital Content Strategy to join a small, dynamic team that works with Columbia University Department of Psychiatry faculty and senior leadership to promote and elevate the brand and messaging of the Department and the Institute. The position reports to the Executive Director for External Relations, is a hybrid of remote and on-site work, and requires comfort with all aspects of communications and marketing work. The Associate Director of Digital Content Strategy develops written, visual, and multimedia content for internal and external audiences and manages the Department's social media channels. The individual must be a creative thinker who can amplify the impact of the content they create by shaping it for the right platforms and channels to drive engagement, build community, and increase awareness of the Department's excellence in patient care, clinical research, and training. Serving as a connections strategist, the Specialist helps the Department present a brand that is the source for state of the science mental and addictive disorders treatment, education, and research, and that promote policies and regulations that support available, effective, culturally competent treatments and services. The successful candidate must possess strong time-management, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and Responsibilities include: Identify topics with visual and audio elements to create compelling stories for internal and external audiences using graphics; video; blogs; podcasts; infographics; and other media as appropriate Conceptualize and craft engaging posts and across social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other accounts and gather, interpret, and share metrics and best practices for digital content delivery Build, plan, and implement marketing strategies to build community, increase department brand awareness, and reach new audiences, researching products, services, and strategies to suggest new campaigns, initiatives, and opportunities Attend key events to create content for web and social media, including photographs Assist with development and production of articles, news briefs, and other content Work with team to support editorial calendar and production and distribution of internal and external communications Work with communications colleagues at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York Presbyterian and across the University, as well as with the New York Office of Mental Health, to highlight the work of Department's researchers and clinicians Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field 2 years of work experience in communications Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with social media platforms (including Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) designed to showcase/market organizational and faculty expertise. Proficiency in Content Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other on-line databases. 1-3 years of experience with marketing campaigns 1-3 years of experience with Canva and other basic graphic tools to create social media and print materials. 1-3 years of experience in healthcare communications. RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination.
