Check machine set-up to ensure proper usage. Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of press shop experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Technical background preferred Must have a simple spoken and written knowledge of the English language Forklift Operator License and Crane Operator License Excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Essential Functions: Instruct Press Operators and Set-Up on the proper and safe operating methods for equipment Operate forklift and crane according to Martinrea safety policies and procedures Start, operate, and shut off all presses and/or equipment according to Martinrea safety policies and procedures Ensure equipment is functioning safely, and communicate any equipment or safety concerns to Supervisor Position, align, and bolt dies to ram and bolster Check machine set-up to ensure proper usage Adjust shut heights and cushion pressure on both form and draw dies Set progression on feeders Utilize checking gauges to ensure quality product Coordinate changeover with production operators Pre-stage materials, tools, and equipment required for the next production run Assist in set-up of dies as necessary Appropriately use and keep track of tools and equipment required to perform essential functions Any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Press Shop Manager/Supervisor Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Work Environment: 5% Office Environment, 95% Plant Floor (PPE Required), may be exposed to seasonal weather conditions while performing the duties of this job Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to climb, crouch/kneel, drive, perform overhead work, sit, and lift/move more than 100 pounds.
