About this position: The Control & Dispatch/Meter Shop Supervisor dually reports to the Manager of Distribution Operations Control and Manager of the Meter Shop Department. This position is responsible for the supervision of South Dakota Controllers and Dispatchers engaged in controlling and operating the electric distribution system on a 24/7 basis and for the supervision of South Dakota meter department personnel and associated work. The Supervisor will work closely with other groups within the company including leaders of Operations, Substations, Contact Center, Grid Operations, Construction, Planning, and Safety to assure that the planning and execution of work is performed safely, on schedule and effectively. About this job: Ability to supervise and direct the activities of several functions and direct reports, coordinate diverse activities, delegate efficiently and promote and maintain a positive and progressive work environment Effectively manages budget, by ensuring proper cost controls Utilize management practices to maintain employee engagement and productivity Provide direction and supervision to personnel involved in controlling the electric system using Siemens and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) to ensure stable and reliable operations. Provide direction and supervision to personnel involved in ECIS+, ARCOS, InService Mobile TC, Gynses Supervise and assist in day to day maintenance of the electric SCADA system, including adding/removing data points and creating/modifying screens Verifying and reporting on electrical outages and indices Create quarterly operations report for regulatory compliance Coordinate and request planned transmission clearances, switching, hot wire holds and other related requests System operation optimization coordinated with the asset management, substation and electric/gas operations functions (switching plans, feeder loading, line reroutes, ties, etc.) Develop or modify electric and gas metering test procedures and programs Review the results of the meter tests and determine solutions for failed results Design, estimate, and manage metering projects Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures Coordinate with project teams including substation, transmission, relaying, and communications Support department as needed for effectively working with other company departments such as engineering, load research, customer billing and distribution operations Provide technical support for engineering, load research, substation and distribution operations Use of safe work practices in the design, construction, and maintenance facilities This position will be required to be on-call for after-hours emergencies Travel including to jobsite, trainings and seminars up to 30% of the time; overnight travel is required up to 20% of the time A significant amount of time is spent in an office environment with occasional lifting of products or material up to 35 pounds All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives Am I right for this job?
