A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST As a Radiology Technologist, you demonstrate a patient-first approach to care and act as an advocate for the patient, keeping their best interests at the forefront at all times. Using our top-of-the-line technology, your main responsibilities include performing x-rays and CTs. If you have experience in Dexa or mammography, that is a plus! You also assist with the administration of contrast media including IV, oral, and rectal contrast. You obtain and accurately interpret data, making appropriate decisions based on your knowledge of age-specific growth and development. With your great organizational skills, you maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work-related areas. Based on quality control standards, you ensure that equipment is in good working condition and evaluate images for technical quality. You monitor the diagnostic area for safety and use safe radiation practices. Assuming responsibility for patient records and film management, you complete all paperwork including scheduling, patient work-up, patient consent, reports, and filing. You thrive in this fast-paced environment and get a great deal of satisfaction out of the relationships that you have cultivated with other professionals, fellow healthcare employees, and your patients. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Graduate of an AMA Accredited Radiography Program with ARRT or ARCRT Permit to practice in the state of Iowa BLS (CPR) certified or ability to obtain it within 3 months of employment Do you have excellent interpersonal skills?
