The Role The Top Tech Electrical Instructor facilitates and managers all classroom, lab, and field training activities associated with Top Tech Academy students. They take part in the planning, creation, maintenance, and delivery of the curriculum and all other operational activities for the Top Tech Academy. What You'll Do Instruct students in the classroom and lab using technology-based training, hands-on skill application, and discussion-based learning. Conduct exams and skill assessments, giving constructive feedback and support to each student as needed to facilitate learning and progression thoughout the semester. Submit structured grading for each student through the use of skills assessments, binder checks, projects, ride-alongs, and other learning activities on a weekly basis. Prepare students for all mandatory certifications and testing before they enter the field on their own. Manage ride-along program for students, including but not limited to scheduling, feedback, and communication between students, dispatch staff, and department managers. Conduct ride-alongs with students and track progress for each student using structured evaluation forms. Hold students accountable to being prepared, actively participating, maintaining satisfactory attendance, progressing through the program, and following all company policies. Maintain confidentiality regarding student performance and any other HR-related issues. Deliver technical support via phone to students when they are working in the field during the Top Tech semester. Complete all other duties as assigned. What You'll Need High School Diploma or GED 4 + year's experience in residential Electrical work and demonstrated history of helping other team members succeed in their role. Professional teaching, instructing, or training experience preferred. Strong mentorship/leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, & PowerPoint). Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement/goals. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. Ability to encourage the Peterman Brothers team. Physical Reminds Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, and controls. Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
