RADIOLOGY - UltraSound Technologist

Description:
Under the supervision of the Radiology Practice Manager, according to established protocols, performs patient care and technical duties involved in a wide variety of ultrasound diagnostic procedures that require independent judgment. Complex technical tasks include utilizing high frequency sound waves to detect anatomical abnormalities in accordance with prescribed sonographic procedures. Able to communicate findings to the Radiologist in a clear and concise manner. Perform all other related duties as assigned.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Obtains and records an accurate patient history• Performs diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images • Analyzes technical information • Provides an oral or written summary of the technical findings to the physician for medical diagnosis • Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team. • Other duties as assigned.• Maintain equipment and notifies management of faulty equipment• Demonstrates effective time management and is proactive in prioritizing workload and meeting productivity requirementsQualifications: • RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer• At least 1 year of experience as an UltraSound Technologist • BLS requiredSkills and Abilities:• Knowledge of HIPAA• Ability to physically support patient while turning, lifting, placing or adjusting into a suitable position for diagnostic purposes.• Efficient in operating ultrasound equipment, selecting the right technical factors, and exposing the film properly for obtaining highest quality ultrasound images. • Ability to visually select the best images that are to be reviewed by the physician. • Ability to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill. • Ability to exercise independent judgment in recognizing the need to extend the scope of the procedure according to the diagnostic findings• Extensive, direct patient contact that may include performing some invasive procedures.
