The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) provides quality rehabilitation services to those facing life-changing injuries or illnesses. We specialize in the areas of brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex medical conditions. RHI is the only Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System in the state of Indiana and one of only 16 in the U.S. RHI has two locations. Our facility on the northwest side of Indianapolis provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to patients 15 years of age and older. Our facility on the north side of Indianapolis specializes in outpatient, interdisciplinary brain injury services for ages 15 and older as well as serves clientele with neuro and ortho-physical therapy needs and pediatric vision needs. Full-Time, Benefits Eligible Role Hours: 7:00 PM-7:230 AM Every third weekend shift Summary: This Clinical Practitioner has a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the aging process, and the use of the nursing process in the rehabilitation setting. The incumbent personally administers nursing care to the patients and/or plans, directs, and coordinates the nursing care of a group of mid-adolescents, adults, and geriatric physical medicine rehabilitation patients from age 15 and up via the nursing process and in collaboration with other nursing resources and the health team. The incumbent also instructs patients and families in procedures and health care practices and makes referrals for continuing care after discharge. This position requires experience gained through an approved School of Nursing with an appropriate period of orientation for the performance of nursing care. Direct patient care positions require direct patient care experience in the preceding five years. The incumbent must successfully complete nursing orientation objectives. A current State of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse is required. Must receive CPR training in accordance with American Heart Association Standards resulting in the receipt of course completion card upon hire and maintain current thereafter. A School of Nursing graduate is required, Bachelor of Nursing degree is encouraged. We support and encourage nurses to become Certified Rehab Registered Nurses (CRRN).
