Medical Assistant - Long Term Care The Adrian Dominican Sisters are currently looking for Part-Time and Full-Time Medical Assistants . Pay : $19.00/hr . We pay time and a half after 8 hours plus other incentives. Hours : 10am - 6:30pm *occasional mandation/over time and requires working every other weekend. Who we are : We are a team of caregivers and support staff who provide an enriching and compassionate environment to the Adrian Dominican Sisters in their home at the Dominican Life Center, our nursing/retirement home environment. Our Sisters live in assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities and we take great pride in providing our Sisters with the best care and environment in their retirement . Check us out at https://adriandominicans.org/Employment In this role you will assist the nursing department with: Answering community phones when present and triage calls appropriately. Filing, thinning charts, gathering paperwork for resident appointments, completing lab slips, distributing charts and orders from the DLC Clinic when applicable, maintaining up to date forms. Completing and verifying assignment sheet for the next week for nursing assistants and nurses. Completing and distributing cards for nursing co-workers for birthdays, sympathy, new baby, etc. Acting as liaison between resident services companions and residents. Completing MTF's as appropriate. Completing requests for interdisciplinary notes and labels for residents. Drawing labs when ordered. Administering injections when ordered and requested by the nurse. Processing provider orders when needed. Performing bladder scans as ordered and directed by the nurse. Performing EKG testing as ordered and directed by the nurse. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED . Trained Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician, EMT training REQUIRED. Nursing assistant/direct care experience preferred. Physical: This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and/or stooping throughout the day. Occasionally requires lifting of chart or boxes overhead generally weighing less than 15 lbs. COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position. Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.
