ABCO Federal Credit Union is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Consumer Lending Supervisor; who can assist the VP of Lending with the management of the ABCO Lending Department. This individual will be responsible for supervising lending personnel and ensuring a high level of member service and productivity is maintained. The Consumer Lending Supervisor will also function as an Underwriter and accurately approve or deny loans based on Credit Union, State and Federal regulations. They must be dedicated to educating our members to ensure their financial health and well-being. A Day in the Life of a Consumer Lending Supervisor Under the direction of the Vice President of Lending, in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations, you will provide day-to-day coordination, assistance and support of both consumer and mortgage lending operations to all lending staff. You will assist the VP of Lending with ensuring lending processes are consistent in all areas of the credit union. Actively participate in process improvement according to all credit union consumer lending policies and NCUA lending guidelines. Involved in the development of ABCO's policies and procedures and training of lending and branch personnel as needed. As a consumer loan underwriter, you play a very important role in the lives of our members as you are responsible for providing financing for vehicles, home improvements, and other personal needs. You will use your knowledge of lending principles and sound judgment to make approval decisions based on creditworthiness and risk. In cases of denial, you suggest alternative loan options or steps that can be taken for future approval. You ensure that fair lending practices are applied at all times, explain loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's and or bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field such as Business or Accounting preferred. Five plus years of experience with Consumer Lending/Financial Services, preferably in a credit union environment. Five plus years of experience in a management capacity within the lending arena including credit approval, processing, and funding. Extensive experience in using automated financial and lending tracking systems, Loancierge a plus. Proficient in providing excellent customer service in a fast paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and effectively. This is a Full Time Exempt salaried position. Rotating Saturdays are required. Flexibility is a must. Lending Department hours are: Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our Saturday hours are: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you are interested in learning more about joining the ABCO team, please reach out to us.
