The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County provides opportunities for people to connect with nature. We offer to the public 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, 47 miles of rivers and streams, and 6 nature and cultural centers. We have 6 million visitors each year. The District's mission is, "to acquire and hold lands containing forests, prairies, wetlands and associated plant communities or lands capable of being restored to such natural conditions for the purpose of protecting and preserving the flora, fauna and scenic beauty for the education, pleasure and recreation of it's citizens. Must be 16 years old at the time of hire - Drivers License not required - Restaurant/Pro Shop Discount - Golf Privileges This position provides outstanding customer service to guests upon arrival, answer phone, take reservations and manage the efficient and timely seating of guests to a table. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide guests with welcoming customer service Seat guests and update the seating chart and point of sale system Communicate to kitchen and supervisors about guest flow (open tables, menus on tables, etc.) Takes reservations by phone, email and point of sale system Communicate with servers and supervisor(s) about pertinent reservation notes (i.e. Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.) Available to work a variety of hours, days, shifts, and holidays including weekends Follow all procedures and policies set forth by the FPDDC, DuPage Golf and Health Department for all health and safety regulations Perform all opening and closing tasks Perform other duties as required Related Experience: Casual/Upscale Casual restaurant experience, high-volume host experience preferred. Minimum Qualifications, special training or other license, certification,etc.: Must be 16 years of age at time of hire, ability to obtain the Illinois Food Handler Training and Certification within 30 days of employment. Schedule and Availability: Availability to work should include opening and closing shifts, weekend and holidays, based on customer traffic and business needs. Knowledge Of: Food safety, seating charts, dining room flow and activity, proper serving techniques, sanitation processes, restaurant tableware. Skills In: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional phone etiquette, conflict resolution, customer service oriented attitude.
