It is an exciting time here at Wilmington College. The Mathematics Department at Wilmington College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics to begin in August 2023. We are seeking candidates who will work collegially and effectively with faculty, students, staff, administrative colleagues, and alumni. Duties will include teaching 24 credit hours for the academic year of lower and upper level mathematics courses (including at least one data science/data analytics course per semester) as well as departmental and college service and scholarship. Qualifications: Acquired a doctoral degree by August 2023 in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, or another closely related field that involves data science/analytics. Experience in teaching mathematics at the college level. Experience in teaching data science/data analytics or professional experience in data science/data analytics preferred. Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning. Strong interpersonal skills.
