We are seeking a Senior Logistics Management Specialist . Located on-site in Port Hueneme, CA . Principal Duties/Responsibilities: The integration of actions required of each activity into a comprehensive logistics plan, the monitoring of progress in meeting the planned requirements, the adjustments of logistics plans and schedules for all related actions, and coordination of efforts to affect the plan. This includes determining requirements for funds, manpower, facilities, equipment, transportation, communications, training, supplies and support services; as well as, the design and development, procurement, production, storage, maintenance, utilization and disposal of supplies and equipment. They may also be involved in acquisition of required support services such as transportation, communications, acquisition and training of personnel, and International Programs support. The Life Cycle Logistics Management encompasses both acquisition logistics and sustainment activities; responsible for planning, development, implementation, and management of effective and affordable weapons, materiel, or information systems support strategies. Logistics Management role during both the acquisition and operational phases of the system life cycle to: Ensure product support strategies meet program goals for operational effectiveness and readiness. Ensure supportability requirements are addressed consistently with cost, schedule, and performance. Ensure supportability considerations are implemented during systems design; and meet system material availability, material reliability, life cycle cost, and mean down time objectives. Ensure the integration of all support elements to maximize supportability, reliability, availability, maintainability, and mission effectiveness of the system throughout its life cycle. Influencing system design and providing effective, timely product support capability to achieve the system's material readiness and sustain operational capability. Education and Experience: Master's degree in an applicable Engineering, Mathematics, or Business discipline. Minimum of ten (10) years of lifecycle logistics management experience with Navy Weapon/Combat Systems and associated equipment, demonstrating experience and ability to meet the following job description requirements: Oversee and coordinate program activities designed to ensure effective and economical support for production of various goods and services. Ensure materials, goods, labor, equipment, supplies, and other requirements are delivered in good order at an optimum time and cost. Provide subcontractors, suppliers, management, and customers with logistics technology that ensures effective and economical support. Analyze contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product. Develop and implement program activities, coordinate efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolve problems in area of logistics to ensure meeting of commitments. Develop and initiate preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide logistics support. Compile data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities. Determine logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors, such as environmental and human factors affecting personnel. Skills and Abilities One must have exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must.
