The Engineer Intern is a member of the operations staff and assists the engineers and machinists regarding product lifecycle management, process improvement, new product development, and project management. The Engineering Intern works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions, operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Expectations The Engineering Intern is expected to embody the company's standards with respect to discipline, quality, punctuality, and safety, and to enforce those standards with subordinates. The Engineering Intern is expected to stay abreast of new and best practices in the industry to help foster a continuous improvement environment, possess leadership skills and be self-performing with a drive to strive for quality. The Engineering Intern is expected to ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Responsibilities The Engineering Intern works with the production engineers and manufacturing staff to generate prints and/or 3D models for new and existing parts; assists with the production process and all of its associated procedures; assist in training employees in all aspects of production, to include standard work instructions, operator level inspections, and the use of inspection equipment. Specific Responsibilities: Convert part print requirements into prints and/or 3D models using appropriate drawing and tooling terminology, as well as geometric tolerance applications Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed processes in accordance with work instructions. Assist production engineers & machinists in troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining equipment, components, devices, and/or machine tools. Participate in the product design process, make recommendations, and complete engineering tasks as assigned Complete required regular updates and reports
