Description:
The Ministry Team Member, in collaboration with the other member of the Ministry Team, is responsible for the overseeing volunteers, setting up for and coordinating daily Mass, working in the bookstore and completing reports, and assisting retreatants and presenters during the retreat event in order to help accommodate their specific needs according to the policies and procedures of the Retreat Center. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Implements the Archdiocese's mission and philosophy as it relates to the goals of the Retreat Center. Works with staff, volunteers, clergy, religious, and lay ministers in a ministry of presence to our outreach. Maintains a professional, compassionate, and welcoming attitude toward staff, volunteers, and guests. Organizes a team of volunteers to assist with the various needs of the retreat center including daily Mass. Assists retreatants upon arrival for retreats and other programs in collaboration with Captains and volunteers. Oversees the bookstore operations in collaboration with volunteers and the Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper. Coordinates the set up and facilitation of daily Mass and other special liturgical services hosted by the ANO Retreat Center. Assists retreat facilitators and presenters in order to accommodate their requests while on retreat. Provides a general welcome/orientation at the start of a retreat and a general closing at the end of a retreat. Assists with the ANO Retreat Center library and donation room in coordination with Ministry Team. Maintains inventory of chapel and liturgical supplies, turns in order requests, and restocks low supplies in coordination with the Ministry Team and staff Coordinates with Executive Director, Retreat Coordinator, chaplain, and ministry team regarding presenters, scheduling, and types of programs. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal skills and hospitable attitude Flexibility of hours and availability to work at night, overnight, and/or weekends Experience as a sacristan is preferred Training as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is preferred Experience working in a ministry environment Good communication and organization skills to collaborate with volunteers
