RN or LPN Clinical Nursing Instructor Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus - is immediately hiring a Full Time Day RN or LPN Clinical Nursing Instructor. What You'll Do: As a RN or LPN Clinical Nursing Instructor , you will carry out our Mission of Love by a ssisting the Director of Organization Development and Training in coordinating all aspects of the training program at Masonic Village such as developing and administering educational programs, training employees, and facilitating change throughout the campus. You will be responsible for licensed nursing staff training for HCC and PC, and all agency licensed staff, and serve as Matrix Care Super-User trainer. You will assist the Vice President of Clinical Care and Quality with training initiatives that are agreed upon with the Director of OD & Training. Our RN or LPN Clinical Nursing Instructor is responsible for the following: Working with Director of OD&Training on local, state, and federal regulations. Working with Director to present classes to comply with state and federal mandated programs and requirements. Displaying instructor and facilitator skills in the classroom which encourages learning on the part of the student. Welcoming discussion and opposing viewpoints to further explore the theory behind course objectives. Developing lesson plans to meet specific interdepartmental needs. Assessing the quality of programs offered and making necessary changes or improvements. Maintaining certification to conduct the Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP). Maintaining the audio-visual equipment in the OD & Training dept. for use by other departments within Masonic Village. Providing instruction on how to video tape for those departments who desire this ability. May provide videotaping taping service if requested and individual schedule permits. When acting as the RN Instructor Supervisor, you are responsible to be available to assist the LPN instructor when the NATCEP instruction is taking place when needed. Supervision of the LPN instructor will include the signing and dating of the Performance Checklist to verify the students were taught and demonstrated proficiency in the knowledge and skills required by the OBRA, also known as the Nursing Reform Act of 1987, and Pennsylvania Act 14 of 1997. When acting as the RN Instructor Supervisor, you may also teach the program when required. You will teach the course curriculum as outlined in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program. Modifications are permitted to the competencies, content, and learning activities as long as each objective and sub-objective are taught to the students. Presenting and/or developing courses relating to the soft skills of an organization, such as; Customer Service, Teamwork, Communication, Attitude improvement, Adjusting and Accepting Change, and Supervisory Skills, and other topics as requested or needed. Performing medication pass coaching as needed/requested by the Nursing department. Displaying ability to use computers and enhance productivity and communication through proper use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the Internet. Updating knowledge of computer functions and pertinent software. Serving as Matrix Care Super User. Training new and established licensed staff on Matrix Care, including all Agency Licensed Staff. Staying current with Matrix Care updates. Responsible for the Nursing Competency Fair for all campuses. At Elizabethtown this may include Hospice and Home Care staff. This duty includes meeting with Nursing Leadership to determine content. This will include mandatory training, notebook and quiz creation. Also responsible to create non-nursing competency notebook and quiz for non-nursing staff who work in the HCC. What You Have: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing is required. Must have the credentials for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse either by graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, an Associate's Degree, or have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Minimum one year of long term care experience experience. Certified to teach the Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program, or will obtain this certification upon hire. Must have one year of Long-Term Care experience as an RN or an LPN. Experience in adult education and instructor/facilitation skills strongly preferred. CPR certification and CPR instructor certification is preferred.
