Job Description: Do you love solving problems and finding innovative ways to help companies improve by providing Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central (BC) solutions? The company has been using Microsoft Dynamics NAV since 2014 and recently completed an upgrade to Business Central. We are searching for a support specialist who can lead our internal efforts to provide excellent customer service to our internal users and make steady improvements to BC, working closely with our BC partners/developers. BC handles the company's manufacturing, purchasing, sales, shipping, and financial functions and is our single source of truth regarding customer and item information. The Dynamics NAV Business Central Senior Specialist is the primary liaison between the business and information technology teams by supporting business requests. The Specialist will be an internal consultant by documenting requirements, being an internal NAV subject-matter-expert, documenting processes, training the end-users, and providing go-live support on projects and planned releases. Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a point-of-contact and subject-matter-expert (SME) for the business teams. Proactively identify, analyze, and respond to issues and risks through the BC request backlog and by analyzing the system independently. Conduct requirement analysis, mapping, planning, and authoring user stories. Manage the BC request backlog for new improvements to BC. Troubleshoot day-to-day matters reported by the business and IT teams. Test all new functionality and changes before handing them to the end user for acceptance testing. Review and respond to support requests within the Jira ticketing platform. Author test cases and test application changes and enhancements before passing them to the end user for additional testing. Request additional information from users to provide a solution or escalate the request to a development resource for further assistance. Identify and recommend improvements to systems or processes. Provide user training as needed for new users, new functionality, or existing functionality that is not being utilized properly and provide process flow mapping. Assist in the evaluation of new plug-ins and technologies to satisfy requirements. Work closely with BC team on all projects and support requests. Required Skills: A deep understanding of Dynamics NAV or Business Central with 4+ years of experience BS/BA degree or equivalent industry experience, preferably in a professional services or management consulting firm The individual must be detail-oriented and thorough, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proactively communicate with leadership. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Ability to independently research possible solutions for problems. Familiarity with multiple companies and environments (development, test, production, etc.). Hands-on experience with finance/accounting, production, inventory, and advanced warehousing in NAV or Business Central Would be a plus: Experience with Beck/Aptean ISV products, Chargelogic, Intelitax, EDI, or Generix Solochain WMS. Bachelor's or graduate degree in Information Systems or a related field. Experience with a company subject to SOX compliance requirements. Experience in Jira and Confluence. Experience working in an Agile project methodology. Have worked in information technology and business teams. Accounting/finance degree or accounting experience in NAV/BC. Experience with inter-company/consolidation companies and multi-currency.
