12 hr Shifts, Monday - Thursday; 1st shift, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the opportunity for additional overtime. VDI, a manufacturer of metalized film, is looking for hardworking, safety-conscious individuals to work our night shift, who desire to be part of a growing and fascinating business. VDI has a skill-based, tiered pay scale to help you grow within your role and within the company. JOB SUMMARY: The entry-level Slitter Operator operates a slitting machine to cut metalized film into smaller sizes for customer orders. VDI offers an attractive medical, dental and 401k benefits package with a performance bonus plan, as well as 14 paid holidays. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Setup and operation of film slitting machinery Meet production schedules and deadlines Have a keen eye for film defects Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds with assistance. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Ability to read printed materials and a computer screen Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal & written formats Hand/eye coordination. Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot Attentive to details Basic Computer skills Ability to identify defects in the film Ability to keep up with production needs Comply with company attendance and punctuality policies Use equipment and materials safely & for their intended purpose Team player with a Positive, Can- Do attitude Strong desire to learn, improve skills and to be coached. Understanding of "Service Excellence" with a desire to provide excellent service to both internal and external customers. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Safety is a top priority at VDI.
