JOB SUMMARY: The Program Manager is responsible for leading the strategic initiatives of the Racial and Ethnic Justice Program. The Program Manager also provides staff support for Generation Next that addresses the college admissions gap for high school students of color, who are underserved or who are potential first-generation college students in their families.The Program Manager provides staff support for issues and concerns that address racial and ethnic disparities in the Lehigh Valley. This includes researching emerging needs, recruiting volunteers, engaging varied constituencies in discourse on equity, and advocating on behalf of racial and ethnic marginalized constituencies. The Program Manager provides support to Color Outside the Lines (COTL), She Has Everything (SHE) and Generation Next programs and activities. The Program Manager is responsible to lead the measurement activities including collects, documents, tracks, and reports progress measurement data for all objectives of CREJ, COTL, SHE, and GenNext programs' components. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Supervision Supervises the Program Coordinator of Generation Next Completes interviews, hiring procedures, training, scheduling, and performance management including employee development in collaboration with the Director. Program Administration Provides information, ideas and consultation for program development and long-range planning. Initiates goal setting for program, in accordance with the program's strategic objectives. Responsible for implementation of all goals and performance targets of work plan. The Program Manager is responsible to lead the measurement activities including collects, documents, tracks, and reports progress measurement data for all objectives of CREJ, COTL, SHE, and GenNext programs' components. and analyzes program data to determine successes and potential weaknesses of the program. Provides staff support for program committees. Researches and analyzes issues affecting the racial and ethnic marginalized constituencies targeted by the program. Assists in developing community awareness and actions of racial and ethnic disparities. Leads and helps to organize and facilitate community-wide discussions and activities on race and ethnicity issues. Serves as an advocate in the community on racial and ethnic fairness issues. Solicits resources to support projects and initiatives. Recruits people to assist with initiatives, participate in services, and serve as advocates on behalf of the broader mission. Develops partnerships for collaborations with community agencies doing complementary work. Generation Next Program Maintains and analyzes records of students' progress for Client Track and grant opportunities. Works with financial institutions to provide information on financial literacy. Works with the program's students and their families to research available funding for testing and the application process for college tuition. Works with the program's students and their families to assist with the FAFSA application. Responsible for advising and guiding students to navigate their higher education, including technical schools, trade schools, colleges and universities. Researches the emerging needs of college students. Develops Generation Next curriculum and ensures all programming is coordinated including speakers, banking and investment program, and SAT preparation. Recruits, trains, supervises, develops and works with interns and volunteers to support the program's needs. Implements strategies to help students overcome a variety of scholastic and personal difficulties throughout the year. Organizes college trips for the program's students to give them a glimpse of college life. Research colleges and universities to help match students' personal needs with their goals and desired lifestyle. Considers and incorporates the unique elements of the individual school's approach to the program's activities. Contacts Child Protective Services or other authorities, if needed, for incidents that could be harmful to students. Works with the advisory committee and other constituents to discuss students' transition into college and potential continued support resources. SHE Program Supports SHE program including its activities, programming and curriculum. Attends meetings pertaining to SHE, as needed, with principals, classroom teachers and the advisory board. Facilitates and teaches SHE, including the Girls Only curriculum and supports, as needed, in the classroom. Other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements Demonstrates the ability to understand and embrace efforts that promote racial, social and economic equity and asset-based community change Ability to work collaboratively and with diverse communities. Excellent organizational skills Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Personal vehicle or access to independent transportation required. Valid driver's license and good driving record Proof of motor vehicle insurance (for use of personal vehicle) PA State Police Criminal background clearance required. Child Abuse background clearance required. FBI Fingerprinting background clearance required.
