Universal Associate Countybank | Greenwood, SC What We're Looking For Countybank is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to serve as a Universal Associate. Universal Associates are cross trained to serve a wide array of customer needs from the teller line to the customer service desk. This role serves as an example to others by providing outstanding customer service and the ability to multi-task. They are trained to handle most customer needs including but not limited to: processing basic and complex transactions, opening and closing accounts, managing a portfolio of deposit relationships, and even processing loan applications if deemed necessary. To handle all these necessary requests, Universal Associates must seamlessly move within the lobby from the teller line to the accounts desk for more complex requests.Confidentiality and a commitment to embracing our corporate culture while serving clients, communities, and fellow associates are essential to the success of this position. What You Can Expect Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of customer service and teller operations to coordinate the daily functions of the financial center. Handles a variety of routine financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, cash advances, and wires. Balances a cash drawer, counting currency and coin accurately. Provides ongoing relationship servicing with current customers. Takes ownership of customer service problem resolution needs within their authority. Identifies the needs of potential customers and offers appropriate financial products and services. Opens and closes deposit accounts and safe deposit boxes. Complete new customer/new account onboarding activities (2x2x2 contact management). Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations. Daily office functions including but not limited to: processing NSFs, Past Due reports, deposit exceptions, Loan exceptions, and overall support of the Financial Center. Confidently uncovers sales opportunities through proficient knowledge and a service-based approach that drives success in the achievement of personal and team goals set. Actively participates in campaigns and promotions as assigned, ensuring that activities are completed in a timely manner and that follow up activities are scheduled accordingly. May be assigned special projects to assist in branch sales or other areas of the bank. Customer Development: Concentrates on each customer and attempts to discover needs or problems by listening for "clues" in conversations, asking questions, making observations, and recalling other information which might reveal a need to new services. Determines the customer's awareness of the problem, need, and/or opportunity discovered and the customer's interest in solving it. Decides the best service or product to solve the customer's problem, need or opportunity and then recommends it. Discusses new additional service(s) with the customer, explaining in simple terms what each service is and how it will be of benefit. Direct the interested customer to the account desk for more information. Whenever possible, introduces customer to the representative when referring them. Skills & Education Requirements Effective interpersonal/communication skills. Proficient computer navigation skills. Bilingual applicants a plus. High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred but not required. 2-3 years of previous banking experience related to this position; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
