The Information Technology Technician works with the IT Department to provide Tier 1 level technical support assistance to agency staff via telephone, email, and in- person as required. They will be the first point of contact for all submitted requests, performing basic triage, while assessing issues and directing requests as needed to the appropriate team member, as well as perform general system setups and deployments. There are multiple openings for this position. Candidates must apply by 5/03/23 in order to be considered for first round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year of knowledge of personal computers, networks, and communication systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months of customer service, strong phone contact handling, with active listening. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Effective communication skills with supervisor and coworkers required, both written and oral. Maintains regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Ability to work flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends. Experience and ability to operate a variety of hand tools, (Pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.), and testing devices. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS Must be able to pass successful registration with the Child Care Division's Central Criminal Background Registry. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. Driver qualification status is required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the past five years. This position is subject to MWVCAA's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Maintains continuous work-related learning by attending regular and special program training events, degree and certificate programs, or comparable special studies by arrangement with the program administration. Assists staff by telephone and goes to work sites for deployments. Installs, configures and maintains Windows client computer systems. Works effectively with direction from the Information Technologies Specialist 2. Keeps current on technologies, practices and procedures that relate to immediate and anticipated assignments. Makes regularly scheduled and assigned work reports, both in-house and to third parties. Monitors inventory of information technology equipment and supplies, and coordinates supply and maintenance repair and up-grade orders with Information Technologies Specialist 2 and program management. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally lift up to 45 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling office equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Working with coworkers/clients over the phone and in-person. Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces.
