Forbes Bros. Timberline Construction Inc. is looking for a Operations Technical Specialist (Work Methods Specialist) to join our growing FB Timberline team. The office is in Wilson, NC and the projects are located throughout the Mid-West, Gulf and Eastern United States. The Work Methods Specialists primary role is to have a strong field presence, providing technical guidance relating to general, powerline, and utility construction work activities. You are the subject matter expert - support us in creating and executing current and new safe work practices! Support the implementation and execution of critical corporate standards under the direction of the Work Methods and Standards Director. These include live line, explosives, helicopter management, and EBG. Assist with and providing feedback on the development of templates, safe work practices, and technical procedures that assist in creating consistent methods for work execution. Assist in the coordination of training and field competency verification. Actively engaging and provide guidance to workers and supervisors by having a focused field presence to improve safety performance, address concerns, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Monitor compliance to applicable worker protection and utility codes including equipotential bonding and grounding requirements. Assist in the development of bid documents related to safety or technical aspects. Ensure company, regulatory, and client safety requirements are met. Conduct site inspections, audits, tailboard meetings, safety meetings, orientations, training, and incident investigations as required. Work closely with Operations Management in overseeing aspects of safety, including incident prevention, training compliance, and addressing concerns. Seek industry best practices to aid in the development and enhancement of FB work methods. Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned Candidate Requirements: Minimum 10 (ten) years' experience as a certified Journeyman Power Lineman with expert knowledge of powerline transmission, distribution, and substation work activities Minimum 5 (five) years' experience in a foreman / supervisory role leading and managing the work of teams Working knowledge of regulatory and legislative OSHA requirements and other related legislation and industry best practices Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Proven ability to lead a team, build on their strengths, lead by example, create consensus, listen, and engage employees at all levels Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to travel during the work week & when weekend/storm work requires Forbes Bros.
