A Federally Qualified Health Center, a not-for-profit safety net organization providing Medical, Dental and Mental Health care to the medically under-served areas of the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood, is looking to hire a compassionate, mission-oriented Board Certified family practitioner. Candidate must be committed to providing quality health care to an indigent and culturally diverse population. Position for: Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician (MD) Salary: Starting at 180,000 plus benefits Location: Barstow, CA and Victorville, CA We are looking for a Provider with the ability to assess the disabilities of indigent adults. You shall establish medical evidence based on the individual s statement of symptoms and medical assessment that includes the results of a physical health examination review of medical history, signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings. A form for documenting findings has been provided by the County as a guide. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides primary care treatment in accordance to standard medical practice protocols Records medical history and provides physical examinations and follow-up care. Provides individual patient instruction in accordance to prescribe treatment plan. Prescribes appropriate medication to patients as needed according to medical protocols and standard medical practice. Identifies physical, nutritional and/or lifestyle problems and refers to appropriate on-site and off-site resources. Identifies psychological and emotional problems/issues and refers to on-site or off-site resources. Consults with Medical Director or specialty physicians for patient evaluations as needed In conjunction with Medical Director, updates Medical Protocols on an annual basis. Adheres to Quality Improvement guidelines and participates in Quality Improvement programs for chronic diseases. Supervises mid-level practitioners as assigned. Works closely with Nutritionists/Health Educators in order to provide appropriate education to the patients. Participates in Provider meetings and QI Meetings as required. Serves as a preceptor instructor to Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or medical students assigned. Attends conferences and seminars when requested and complies with continuing education requirements. Provides trainings to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other clinic staff, on periodic basis. REQUIREMENTS: Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program. Current license in the State of California as a Family Medicine physician, board certified or board eligible Current CPR Minimum of one year of clinic experience preferred Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community. Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred but not required) Willing to travel to site locations for coverage, as deemed necessary Ability to be flexible Full time position 40hrs/wk eligible for full benefits.
