Closing date: February 11, 2024, 11:59PM MSTUnder the direction of the Director, Licensing and Technical Services, the Technical Advisor is responsible to assist the Senior Technical Advisor and the Director with the provision of technical support for all internal and external technical and scientific services required by the Nunavut Water Board. Role and Responsibilities1. Water Licence Applications – assist the Senior Technical Advisor and the Director by: backssing the accuracy of information received for water licence applications, summarizing findings including input from interested parties, identifying outstanding issues and advising the Board; Providing technical, coordination and administrative support on all types of applications; Conducting research for the development of guidelines and direction to Proponents. 2. Development and implementation of licensing processes, procedures and activities – assist the Senior Technical Advisor and the Director by: Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of licensing processes for applications submitted to the Board; Providing research for the liaison with Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada on issues related to the enforcement of Nunavut Water Board licences; Ensuring that studies, plans, and/or reports submitted by applicants are undertaken in a manner consistent with sound environmental and engineering principles; Researching technical data in support of licence applications; Assisting in the development of procedures, guidelines and systems to improve the Nunavut Water Board’s effectiveness and efficiency; Providing data and assistance for specialized technical consulting services (as needed); Develop project specific consultation plans and assist in the development of project specific budgets. 3.
