You will be responsible for overseeing the care and containment of individuals held at the Immigration Holding Center. If you bring experience working in a supervisory role and thrive in a fast-paced role where building relationships is a key factor to your success, then this may be an ideal opportunity for you! Pay Rate: Starting at $26.25 What to Expect as a Detention Center Security Supervisor Ensure the protection, custody, and control of medium to high-risk detained persons. Provide the guards with the proper assignments or posts. Utilizing methods authorized by CBSA for conducting searches of cells, detainees, and property. Communicate the shift briefing and procedures changes to the team. Provide support and initial/ongoing training to guards. Execute emergency evacuation protocols when necessary and make sure that the team understands them. Promptly notifying the CBSA both verbally and in written form following critical incidents or deficiencies. Conduct supervisor visits and audits of posts within the IHC. Successful Candidate have the Following 1 to 3 years experience in personnel management in a unionized environment Applicants must be Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens Valid BC Security Licence Standard First Aid (CPR and AED) is considered an asset. Advanced Security Training (AST) is considered an asset. Transport Security Clearance (TSC), RAIC, and Class 4 driver’s license are considered an asset.
