Central NextGen Director/Pastor Mission of The Journey : To help people find Jesus and follow him fully General Description: Provides vision, leadership, and direction for all NextGen ministry areas, which includes Journey Kids and Journey Students. Oversees and empowers the NextGen Core Team to create a streamlined development process for Journeyers birth through young adults. Who We’re Looking For: Follower of Jesus with strong character, in alignment with “What We Believe” Passionate leader who embraces a culture where we take high ownership of behaviors and actions ("that's on me"), lean into honest conversations with God and others (say the last 10%), and relentlessly empower others (our answer to "what" is always "who"). Committed to our vision and engages in all public habits (gathering on a weekend, connecting in a J-Group, serving on the J-Team) and personal habits (investing and inviting, practicing a slot and spot, giving your first) Thrives in fast-paced, mission- and gift-focused environment where we’re committed to helping people find Jesus and follow him fully Additional Qualifications: Abnormally high work ethic (an executor who makes the right things happen through empowering others on a regular basis) A passion for children, student, and family ministry; at least three years experience (and success) with leading growing NextGen ministries Visionary leader and strategic thinker who can develop and implement spiritual growth strategies throughout NextGen ministries Proven ability to recruit, train, and equip leaders and build teams Strong communicator and visionary who can light up a room Willing to eat questionable foods, engage in nerf wars or do other absurd things to impress kids and/or students Essential Functions: Develops, oversees, and implements the vision for Journey Kids and Journey Students; facilitates the transition of children, students, and young adults into each stage Oversee leaders and core teams for Journey Kids and Journey Students who move the vision forward through making and executing decisions at a strategic level Recruits, develops, and trains leaders for all ministry areas Partners with J-Groups team to offer stage-specific J-Groups for all NextGen ministries Oversees all internal and external communication that represents NextGen Develops and maintains all security standards Oversees all aspects of department administration to include: budget forecasting, purchasing, departmental account tracking, and all Human Resources functions, including conducting annual reviews with all direct reports Implements innovative, fun curriculum throughout NextGen that reflects the teaching of The Journey and raises up communicators throughout all environments Identify key metrics, build reports, and provide regular analysis to Lead Team about how NextGen ministries are doing; make recommendations for improvement as needed Expected Results: Journey Kids : Champion helping kids know God, love God, and live like he says through our weekend gatherings, kid-oriented J-Groups, opportunities to serve, and online engagement. Empower location directors for each location to build teams of J-Teamers Within the first year, see 125 more kids gather with us on a weekend. Within the first year, see an increasing number of kids taking next steps (joining a J-Group, getting baptized, etc.) according to goals determined by the team. Journey Students : Champion helping students find Jesus and follow him fully at Converge, J-Groups and Rise while helping them live out their purpose of serving/leading and being part of our weekend gatherings. Within the first year, see 75 additional students attend Converge, our large group event nights. Within the first year, see an increasing amount of students engage in small groups and sign up for summer camp to level up spiritually according to goals determined by the team. General Responsibilities: Participates in weekly department meetings and monthly all-staff meetings Gather on the weekend on the front row, lead a J-Group at least two out of three semesters, and serves in some way outside of essential functions Champions gather, connect, and serve Position Type : Full time Hours: Mondays - Thursdays, with Saturday evening and Sunday daytime gatherings Reports to: Operations Pastor - Brad Dreibelbis Oversees: Journey Kids Director, Journey Students Director Process : To access our application, click here .
