PART TIME PASTOR JOB DESCTIPTION Spirtual Plan and conduct Bible based worship services and special seasonal services. Prepare and deliver sermons. Lead in observance of our ordinances and bylaws. Perform the Lord's Supper (first Sunday of the month). Lead Wednesday evening Bible study. Perform baptisms Pastoral Visitation of sick, elderly, housebound and members in general. (phone calls, in person) Conduct counseling sessions, perform wedding ceremonies, conduct funerals. Work with deacons, trustees, church officers, and committees as they perform their responsibilities. Lead the church in an effective program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for persons in the church and community. Maintain regular set office hours Communications Email: monitor the FBCN gmail account Handle church correspondence, eg. letters to visitors Write and distribute press releases and advertisements to local newspaper Monitor recording machine for telephone in church office Monitor requests from outside groups for use of church facilities Participation in church fundraisers (yard sales, fairs, golf scramble) Expectations/Qualifications Willingness to work with the ABC-USA and the American Baptist Churches of Maine Personal commitment to God's word Experience preferred Basic administration and computer skills. (Word, Excel, Zoom, etc.) Help develop and live out our mission statement: "Where Christ is exalted and people are loved."
