Program Overview As an outstanding provider of services for achieving success at school and at work, JVS Toronto helps thousands of people from all walks of life to achieve their educational, economic and personal potential. Within newcomer services, the ISTEM program is designed to facilitate newcomer integration into the Canadian workplace and society at the initial stages of their job search in Canada. It includes information, orientation and counselling as well as sector-specific language/workplace communication training for internationally educated professionals. Through targeted individual and group activities, this pilot project will support professional newcomer women who have been out of the workforce and want to resume their career journeys in Canada. We’re looking for someone who will: • backss client strengths, needs and job placement readiness. Negotiate employment opportunities that meet both client and employer needs• Carry out job development using JVS’ consultative sales model including prospecting (cold calling), networking, employer needs analysis, features/benefits and other job development and sales techniques. • Build productive ongoing relationships with potential.
