WINDSOR POLICE SERVICE announces openings for the position of EXPERIENCED EMERGENCY 911 COMMUNICATOR (Permanent Part Time) Compensation: Approximately $40.00 per hour QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a Grade 12 graduation diploma or equivalent, as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education, or completed post-secondary education at an accredited college or university as an adult student. Minimum of 1 year experience in call taking and dispatching in a primary or secondary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Demonstrated highly developed communication skills. Must be able to type minimum of Net 40 WPM. Successful completion of Criti Call testing, psychological testing, background investigation and interview required. Proficiency in the 10-Code and phonetic alphabet would be considered an asset. Experience using Versaterm CAD, and/or CPIC would be considered an asset. As 911 Communicator duties are a 24-hour operation, this is a shift work position requiring successful applicants to work all shifts of days, afternoons, and midnights. Permanent Part Time employees are eligible for benefits after 6 months. Eligibility for future full time employment. To apply for this position, submit your resume and cover letter (in 1 file).
