It immerses students in a highly participatory and provocative encounter with history, social theory, politics, policy, art and culture seen through a gender lens. It provides an interdisciplinary overview of the historical 'waves' of women's movements for equality in a global context and background to the development of Women/Gender Studies as a site of learning and feminist inquiry. Estimated Course Enrollment : 225 Estimated TA Support : 150 hrs Class Schedule : Tuesday, 11-1 Hours of Work: Friday, 9-11 and/or Wednesday, 3-6 Sessional Dates of Appointment : September 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023 Salary : $52.76 per hour Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications : Applicants will have a Masters or Ph. D. in Gender, Feminist and/or interactionuality Studies or a closely related discipline. A Ph. D. degree in Gender, Feminist or interactionuality Studies is preferred. Previous experience in a similar course is desirable. Description of Duties : Duties will include the teaching of small tutorial sections, marking of assignments, holding scheduled office hours and invigilation of exams; other duties as determined by the supervisor.
