VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER - FIRE DEPARTMENT Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer with your community's fire department? CES is a dynamic and constantly evolving private not-for-profit fire and emergency medical services provider that embraces diversity and inclusiveness to meet the need of emergency services in our community in the most fiscally responsible way possible. As a new member you would be required to complete the minimum mandatory training for Firefighter 1 certification set by Georgia Firefighter Standards & Training Council (GFSTC), and the Insurance Services Office (ISO), and to attend a minimum of 75% of drills and 50% of credible calls. Other requirements may apply based on the type position. Additional fire service training is available including apparatus operator - tender, command aid, fire instructor, fire officer, and more. Requirements 1. Be at least 18 years of age 2. Be a legal United States citizen or possess current documentation to be legally employed in the State of Georgia. 3. Not convicted of a felony in any jurisdiction within ten years prior to appointment 4. Have a good moral character as determined by investigation of the candidates criminal history 5. Complete this Volunteer Firefighter Application. 6. Be in good physical condition as determined by a medical examination and fitness assessment 7. Pass the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council's firefighter physical agility test 8. Reside in Chatham County NOTE: THIS POSITION IS VOLUNTEER AND NO FINANCIAL COMPENSATION (SALARY, PAY OF ANY KIND) ARE PROVIDED. Chatham Emergency Services is a Drug-Free & EEO Workplace For all non-English speaking candidates, we can assist you per written request. If you need additional resources services send a request to the Human Resources via email (XXXX@chathames.org) no later than 7 business days prior to the testing date. During this time, we will provide a written English comprehension examination that test your ability to read and understand English. Upon successful completion of this exam, we will provide you the written examination and/or resources per written request.
