Peaceful Place Volunteer Coordinator Position Overview: Peaceful Place (PP) Dementia Activities Club is seeking an adaptable and dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to lead and support our volunteers at the day activities club and charity shop. This role is crucial in enhancing the lives of individuals with dementia through effective volunteer management. Key Responsibilities: Recruitment and Onboarding: Actively recruit volunteers, conducting interviews, backssments, enhanced DBS and references checks, to match them with suitable roles. Oversee the onboarding process, including orientation and training. Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs for volunteers, providing ongoing support and guidance. Scheduling and Coordination: Manage volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for club activities and charity shop operations. Volunteer Engagement and Retention: Foster a positive volunteer culture, organize appreciation events, and collect feedback to improve the volunteer experience. Community Outreach and Collaboration : Engage with local organizations and community groups to expand the volunteer network. Use social media effectively for recruitment of volunteers for day activities, charity shops, fundraising champions. Administration: Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies. Transport Support: Essential to have a full, clean driving license and willingness to support the transport of members on an ad hoc basis in PP minibuses. Essential Qualifications: · Experience in volunteer coordination or management, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Strong organizational and time-management abilities. · Proficiency in social media and digital platforms for recruitment and community engagement. · Empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with dementia. · Ability to work both independently.
