About the Opportunity Centering Healthcare Institute (CHI) is experiencing significant growth and excited to embark on our ambitious plan to bring the Centering model to more healthcare providers nationwide. Growing our impact requires an equity-driven, hands-on leader to oversee our digital and technology innovation. Working closely with the Executive team, our Vice President of Technology will envision and lead CHI’s technological infrastructure and inform digital strategies to shape the future growth of the organization, establishing and securing its technical edge in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. This is a unique opportunity for a human-centered technologist who leads with the principle that technology is, first and foremost, about the people it serves. We are seeking a leader who brings expertise in technological strategy and implementation cross-functionally, and collaborates with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that will grow CHI’s impact and contribution to overall health in the U.S. The successful candidate has a strong track record of transforming technology initiatives and the ability to effectively inspire a broad range of stakeholders to action. This executive leader will help chart the course of digital transformation at CHI by setting and executing technology initiatives, including and especially digital strategies, that will drive revenue, improve customer experience (CX) and employee engagement, optimize operations, and create new business value across the Institute’s mission, vision, and values. creating an environment that inspires relationships of collective power in the health system; and disrupting the structures and systems that drive poor health to co-create communities where everyone has an equitable opportunity to thrive Lived and/or professional experience in CHI’s communities of focus, which include Medicaid recipients and people who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color, particularly regarding engagement with/utilization of digital technologies Executive & Organizational Set cohesive vision, direction, and strategy, ensuring CHI’s technological resources are aligned with its short- and long-term needs, enabling business leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the organization’s longer-term strategic vision and projected growth Align a comprehensive digital strategy to CHI’s goals and objectives, working with clients on solutions that enhance their ability to operationalize group care and track outcomes, ideally with an eye toward interoperability with electronic medical record systems Collaborate with department leads to identify and prioritize technology needs that enhance their teams’ operational efficiency and service delivery Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of digital and technology initiatives and regularly report on progress to CHI’s executive leadership Lead and manage CHI’s IT budget, ensuring its alignment with broader organizational goals and strategies Digital & Technology Subject-Matter Expertise Innovate across the organization by leveraging knowledge of the business, industry, and leading-edge technological solutions to transform the way that CHI operates and provides services to its customers Lead CHI’s cybersecurity modeling, outlining ongoing risk scenarios, assessing the severity of each, and quantifying the potential outcome if any scenario is realized Explore the potential to develop and implement digital solutions, such as telemedicine platforms, electronic health records (EHR) systems, mobile applications, and patient engagement tools Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards, in all digital initiatives and data management practices Champion org-wide data-driven decision-making by utilizing data analytics and insights to inform digital strategy decisions, measure performance, and continuously optimize digital initiatives Team Management & Cross-Collaboration Determine the right team structure and necessary professional skills in order to build/staff a Technology team with the capacity to sustain CHI’s growth into the future Lead, manage, and coach a team of digital professionals, including strategists, developers, data analysts, and project managers to effectively implement CHI’s broader technology strategies Lead the development and management of information security policies, communication and approvals across CHI’s teams Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Technology team and org-wide, including working with Innovation and Product teams to digitize product offerings that are integrated into CHI’s digital infrastructure Provide thought partnership on CHI website and digital customer interfaces Stakeholder & Partner Engagement Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clinical teams, IT professionals, and executive leadership, to identify opportunities for digital innovation and improvement in healthcare processes Build and maintain strategic partnerships with technology vendors, healthcare providers, research institutions, and other stakeholders to support digital initiatives and drive industry-wide innovation Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in healthcare to ensure that the organization remains at the forefront of digital innovation Represent CHI at conferences, industry events, and other forums to promote our digital capabilities and thought leadership in healthcare Key Qualifications Motivated by the mission of CHI and the Centering model with a strong commitment to Health Equity, Racial Justice, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Value-Centered work 7-10 years of experience leading technology teams, including building/scaling products with a focus on user experience 3-5 years of experience in digital strategy, healthcare technology, or related roles; a leadership position in those roles a plus Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, information technology, or a related field or equivalent experience a plus but not required Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable digital strategies and initiatives Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver results on time and within budget Knowledge of Information Security Threat landscape Proven track record of successfully implementing digital initiatives in the healthcare industry, with a focus on improving patient care and outcomes Creative problem solver with a passion for innovation and continuous learning in the digital healthcare space Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and security standards, particularly related to digital healthcare solutions Familiarity with cutting edge technology and relevant healthcare applications; Salesforce and eCommerce experience preferred a plus Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and work in a dynamic team environment with tight deadlines, sometimes under ambiguous or challenging circumstances Demonstrated ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience and comfort presenting technical materials to groups of any size and background Salary, Benefits & Location The starting salary range for the Vice President of Technology role is $160,000 -170,000, based on the qualifications and number of years of relevant experience the selected candidate brings. Centering Healthcare Institute offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes but is not limited to: health, dental and vision insurance, 14 paid holidays, 401k retirement plan with matched employee contribution up to 6%, and flexible vacation time (unaccrued vacation time that full-time eligible staff can utilize after three months working with CHI), among many other health and wellness offerings. The organization’s headquarters office is in Boston, MA and many of CHI’s team works remotely throughout the northeast. The Vice President of Technology role can be based anywhere in the continental U.S. and the person in this role will need to be able to travel nationally, approximately 20% of the calendar year, to various venues in order to meet with stakeholders. Work is sedentary in nature and performed in a remote office environment and will involve frequent phone and email contact with stakeholders. Vaccination Requirements As a condition of employment, each candidate selected for employment will be required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination prior to the selected candidate’s start date with the Company and be fully vaccinated (as that term may be defined by the CDC) within 30 days from that date, unless approved for an exemption.
