Our large manufacturing client located in Peoria, Illinois, is looking for a Technical Engineer, to add to their team. Summary: Must have hands on experience with working on machinery troubleshooting and repairs. The main function of a quality engineer is to research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. A typical quality engineer has the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards. Job Responsibilities: Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities. May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application. Skills: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 2-4 years experience required. Position's Contributions to Work Group : To serve as the first point of contact for our client's dealer's technical communicators requiring assistance with product problem health management (for all of our client's Products). The DSE-2 provides the dealer with interim and permanent repair information to restore product functionality. Position will accomplish: The initial triage on product health events (includes the receiving and recording of Incident Reports to our client) Records event information for future reference and for CPI data mining Investigates documented information Manages dealer inquiry to closure. Typical task breakdown: Workload via PSCRM - work dealer requests out of a queue worked to resolution or to escalation to product group T2. Could involve phone but primarily from PSCRM software platform. Interaction with team : Collaborative Work environment : Office / Home. Hybrid - one week per month onsite (M-Th) Education & Experience Required: This position requires a detail-oriented person with a strong mechanical / product knowledge and / or an Engineering degree - this could include an accredited engineering or related technical degree. Technical Skills (Required) Strong mechanical / product knowledge (ex - background with farming equipment, automotive) Hands on machine experience. Strong understanding of electrical systems. 2-5 years of product support related experience or equivalent. A sense of urgency to resolve product health issues Applied Failure Analysis Soft Skills Written and oral communications skills with Dealer and our client's personnel (Fluent in English) Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
