Summer Teacher Positions Working Part-time, SeasonalThe Job Spans June 20 - August 11, 2023Working approximately 22 hours per week Monday through Thursday Major Responsibility Summer ventures teachers will provide steady, systematic, Multi-sensory literacy instruction to students who need support that goes beyond their classroom instruction. This targeted instruction will take place in a one on one or small group setting. Specific Responsibilities · Plan and teach steady, systematic, multi-sensory literacy lessons using the Orton Gillingham reading approach· Regularly assess student progress and record data in a timely, organized fashion· Build positive relationships with students and families including, but not limited to, regular updates regarding student progress· Meet weekly with Summer Ventures team to reflect and collaborate· Complete progress reports for beginning of and ending of summer for participant families Qualifications · Minimum BA/BS in Education preferred· Experience effectively working in a multi-ethnic, multi-racial urban community· Willingness to go above and beyond in forming relationships with students and families· Spanish Speaking preferred About Urban Ventures Urban Ventures is a faith-based nonprofit organization breaking the cycle of poverty by educating kids, strengthening their families, and building a healthy community. We partner with families in some the most under-resourced neighborhoods of south Minneapolis with one overarching goal-to send every youth to college or some form of post-secondary education.
