In order to receive this Authorization, the individual is required to submit to a fingerprint based experience investigation conducted by the Regional Office, provide proof of freedom from tuberculosis and a physical examination. The Regional Office is also required to conduct checks of the Illinois Statewide Sex Offender and Illinois Statewide Child Murderer and Violent Crimes Against Youth Databases. These records are to be kept by the Regional Office. The teacher is required to pay all costs associated with the experience investigation to the Regional Office. Once completed the individual will be given a Substitute Teacher Authorization by the local regional office.TheNorthCookIntermediateServiceCenteris currently set up to begin this process.
