The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the sales floor, including cash registers and customer service. The Assistant Store Manager will work with the Store Manager to provide support for and accountability over the Grocery, Produce, Wellness, and HBC departments. The Assistant Store Manager would report to the Store Manager. This position is a full-time position, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Requirements: Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 2+ years' experience in customer service and retail management. An associates or bachelor's degree Desired Skills: Demonstrate leadership capability by setting the example for the team, delegating where appropriate, and is the representative of the company to our staff and customers. Must have great communication skills by showing the ability to listen, ask questions, and provide clear instructions Must be comfortable supporting the Store Manager in hiring, training, providing feedback, holding staff accountable and terminating staff when necessary. Must be able to motivate and lead the team, maintaining store morale. Must be able to handle multiple demands in a calm and orderly manner, addressing each issue according to its priority. Must be able to put together a plan and follow through consistently on commitments. Must be comfortable evaluating reports to provide feedback and accountability to department managers. Must be comfortable providing constructive feedback to employees based upon job performance. Must be able to provide excellent customer service, handling any questions, concerns, or complaints in a timely and appropriate manner. Must be able to provide excellent customer service, going above and beyond for the customer each time. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Responsibilities: Must complete regular audits of the store and each department to maintain operational excellence. Must be able to maintain operation of the store while the Store Manager is unavailable or off work. Expected to be able to step in and out of any role in the store to maintain optimal operation at all times. Expected to maintain operational compliance of the store with the support of the Store Manager and Operations. Maintain safety standards in the store at all times for employees and customers. Must be comfortable resolving questions, concerns or complaints brought up by customers and staff in a way that resolves the situation, leaving the customer satisfied. Expected to accomplish any task assigned to them by the Store Manager or Owner, as needed. This list of job responsibilities is considered a general outline of the position. This position is expected to do whatever it takes to get the job done to ensure the successful operation of the store and of Rainbow Blossom. This position will be required to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds rarely. This position will be mostly indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional outdoor exposure, which could consist of hot and cold temperatures as well as potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be expected to stand and walk often, to sit and squat or kneel occasionally, and to climb rarely.
