SUMMARY OF POSITION The focus of this position will be on community outreach for high impact, equity focused EV adoption projects and programs in the Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties. Electric vehicles (EVs) are a critical climate solution for our state, yet few Californians know much about electric vehicles and fewer still lower income residents know they are eligible for thousands of dollars in government rebates toward the purchase of a new or used clean vehicle. The EVs For All/EVs Para Todos campaign implements marketing and outreach specifically designed for our Central Coast low-and moderate-income communities to raise awareness about EVs, and provides one-on-one in-person assistance to guide residents through the EV purchase process. This position will join our Monterey Bay Area project team, with a strong focus in the Pajaro and Salinas Valleys that have the lowest EV adoption rates in the area. RESPONSIBILITIES Ownership of the EV-Promotion practice area including all aspects of program strategic planning and oversight, program administration, stakeholder engagement, and staff recruitment and supervision: Ensure the Long-Term Health & Viability of the EV Promotion (EV-P) Program: Short- and long-term strategic planning characterized by robust data-driven decision making Stay current regarding the local, regional, and national EV-P context to inform current programming and future development efforts Strategically grow and evolve the EV-P program in alignment with the priorities of Ecology Action (EA)/Community Programs (CP) and program partners and funders, and in close collaboration with EA's Development & Fundraising unit Oversight of Program Administration and Operations: Annual program budget development and ongoing budget maintenance in collaboration with CP's Budget Manager Annual staff planning Annual work planning Grant management, including: Grant-specific staff and work planning (in the context of the overall program budget and work plan) Funder relationship and grant contract management, including adherence to contract guidelines Grant accounting and invoicing Grant partner/collaborator coordination and management Grant outcome tracking, analysis, reporting and presentation Risk management, in collaboration with EA's Central Services Ensure adherence to all EA and CP procedures and policies Staff Supervision & Support: Collaborate with EA's HR department on the recruitment of staff, including the creation of job descriptions and interviewing Staff onboarding and training Staff management and coordination toward achievement of program outcomes Ongoing staff professional development Staff coaching and mentoring Staff supervision and performance management, including participation in CP's annual performance evaluation process Approval of staff timesheets and expense reports Recruit, onboard and manage program volunteers, in collaboration with CP's Volunteer Program Lead Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve program outcomes (e.g. Marketing, Accounting, HR, IT, Business Informatics, Central Services) Oversee the development and implementation of project-specific strategies to engage external stakeholders Grow and manage partnerships supporting program goals Donor development, in collaboration with EA's Development & Fundraising unit Represent the EV-P program, CP and EA to the public EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 5 years' relevant experience, including education and/or community organizing. 2 years' experience grant budget management, or comparable experience. Proven ability to manage a diverse team of staff members or demonstrated leadership qualities. Experience with project management fundamentals (work plan, schedule, resourcing, and budget management). Non-profit or other relevant community-based program coordination experience. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize between multiple responsibilities and meet hard deadlines. Detail oriented in regard to data and tracking systems. Proficient in business posts on social media platforms to help improve marketing campaigns. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience with, and/or understanding of, the EV marketplace, including local, regional and national contexts, is highly desirable. Ability to mobilize, coordinate, coach and mentor team members to achieve success. Ability to execute detailed implementation of plans incorporating objectives and details from multiple grants. Strong and professional interpersonal, relationship building, and facilitation skills with team members, partner agencies and school representatives. Comfortable presenting to varied stakeholder groups (e.g. community, academic, business, nonprofit).  Prior experience with event planning and community organizing. Ability to work independently and stay organized while working on multiple projects.  Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Highly organized and motivated to excel.  Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.  Valid California Class C Driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle available for work purposes (mileage reimbursement provided), and current automobile insurance.  Proven ability to manage, mobilize and mentor team members to succeed.  Experience with project management fundamentals (work plan, schedule, resourcing, and budget management).  Ability to execute detailed implementation of plans from multiple grants.  DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Deep experience with, and/or understanding of, the EV marketplace, including local, regional and national contexts. Knowledge of the communities we serve. Experience collaborating with partner organizations. Passion for sustainable transportation or sustainable practices. Bilingual in Spanish/English. WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The environment is a mixture of an office setting and working out in the field (at schools and community events).  Preparation for training events involves multiple trips to the storage unit in the basement to load and unload supplies into the agency trailer, including bicycles, boxes of helmets, and other supplies. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
