Description:
The City of Delta is currently accepting applications for Police Sergeant. This position works under the general supervision of Commander and is responsible for insuring the general objectives of an assigned functional area are performed in accordance with departmental rules and regulations, city ordinances and policies, as well as state and federal laws. Will be responsible to maintain an efficient police records and dispatch unit; and provide proper policy administration services. Any combination of background and training equivalent to graduation from high-school, a Bachelor or Associates degree, and at least (4) 4 yrs of background in law enforcement as a commission police officer. Certification as a Police Officer by the state; certain certifications and standards must be achieved and maintained in supervisory and speciality functions according to departmental policies and law; possession of a valid driver's license. Will be required to successfully pass required tests, including a pre-employment drug test. Preference may be given to candidates with advanced degrees. Possess personal and professional honesty, integrity and good judgment from work history as a police officer.
