We address our clients' biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation.Our highly trained and experienced engineers and scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists work with both public- and private-sector clients, delivering turnkey solutions.A DAY IN THE LIFEThe Senior Scientist will be a Remote position but based in the Florida Panhandle (Pensacola, FL area).The Senior Scientist shall be responsible for providing full, direct, on-site oversight and supervision of field activities conducted by Montrose and/or subcontractor personnel. The work may involve PFAS investigations, Environmental Remediation, Site Assessment, RCRA/CERCLA Investigations, and Site Restoration.The Senior Scientist is expected to be onsite at all times during field activities to directly supervise all personnel and subcontractors, and shall be responsible for implementing approved work plans, safety plans, quality plans, etc. The Senior Site Manager shall be the primary onsite point-of-contact for on-site activities, site visit interaction, and QASP surveillances. * Oversee and direct large field efforts related to environmental investigation including Preliminary Assessments, Site Inspections, and Remedial Investigations. * Perform site visits, field observations, and field data collection related to RCRA, CERCLA, and state environmental cleanup programs. * Coordinate and direct field staff performing sampling of groundwater, soil, and other environmental media * Lead and direct the planning of environmental investigations and provide analysis and interpretation of data to identify data gaps and recommend changes to the investigative approach. * Supervise subcontractors and field personnel performing geophysical surveys, direct push/drilling investigations, and implementation of environmental remediation. * Prepare and review reports, tables, maps, drawings, and visual aids to evaluate, plan and obtain regulatory approval on project recommendations. * Interface with federal, municipal, and private sector clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks. * Maintain confidentiality at all times * Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs * Participate in the company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts * Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attend professional workshops * Perform other duties as assignedYOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in a technically related field such as: Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene or other science or engineering-related discipline. * Professional registration, where required by discipline, i.e., Florida PE or PG. * A minimum of seven (7) years' experience performing field management duties similar to those described for this Senior Site Manager position, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience managing environmental investigation/remediation projects at the field operational level in the state of Florida OR a minimum of ten (10) years' experience as a Senior Site Manager, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience managing environmental or traditional projects at the field operational level in the state of Florida. * Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance. * Possess or have the ability to readily obtain: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification, OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification, OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Certification and First Aid / CPR Training * Experience with GIS is a plus. * Valid driver's license, ability to travel and obtain security clearance at federal installations. * Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite. * Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.). * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisors. * Organizational skills and attention to detail. * This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather. * Work environment will vary greatly depending on nature of assigned tasks. * The position may involve travel as needed.WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOUAs a key member of our Montrose team, you can expect: * Mentorship and professional development resources to advance your career * Direct exposure to our industry's leading experts who are solving the world's toughest environmental challenges * An entrepreneurial environment where you can learn, thrive and collaborate with talented colleagues * Opportunities to engage and contribute in our Diversity, Fairness and Inclusion and Women Empowering Leadership employee resource groups * Competitive compensation package: annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $115,000, commensurate with accomplishments, performance, credentials and geography * Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage * 401k with a competitive 4% employer match * Progressive vacation policies, company holidays and paid parental leave benefits to ensure work/life balance * A financial assistance program that supports peers in need, known as the Montrose Foundation * Access to attractive student loan rates to optimize your student loan payoff plansThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
