SCHEDULE : 7:00am - 3:30pm M-F PAY FREQUENCY: Bi-Weekly PAY TYPE: SALARY SUMMARY As a Senior Demand Planner, you will support the inventory planning and sales of merchandise by conducting analysis on historical sales, purchase and inventory levels to determine trends, forecast, identify areas of risk, and develop purchasing plans to maximize profitability that supports the merchandise strategy and financial objectives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field 3+ years of merchandise demand planning experience including determining trends, forecasting inventory levels, and preparing purchasing plans; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of demand planning/forecasting software (JDA Enterprise Planning or equivalent) experience preferred. Experience in Tableau a plus POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong technical skills with the ability to generate reports and maintain data in MS Office Applications and ERP software Demonstrated ability to develop analytical and problem-solving skills (i.e., critical, and evaluative thinking) required Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal required. Ability to communicate effectively across many levels within the organization. Ability to work collaboratively. Ability to influence decisions by creating a strong case for action, using analytical findings. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability and desire to grow in the position and accept more responsibility. Ability to take initiative in providing new ideas to improve process efficiencies. Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following: Achieve Sales, Margin, and Inventory Turnover and other KPIs as designated to plan. Create and revise all components of a rolling merchandise forecast (sales, margin, receipts, inventory and turn) while ensuring to make daily/weekly/monthly adjustments as need to align with trends and sales goals. Conduct analysis on current and historical data, trends, sales, margins, purchase, and inventory levels in order to: Identify risk and areas of opportunities for specific merchandise categories, vendors, and products. Partner with key stakeholders to develop promotional plans to capitalize on underperforming merchandise and inventory levels, achieve sales goals, and boost profits. Develop promotional plans and liquidation strategies for aged inventory. Make both collaborative and independent day-to-day decisions which affect gross margin dollars. Analyze and anticipate selling patterns to influence the replenishment strategy. Provide thought leadership, analysis and insights into trends and recommendations for actions to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity both on daily basis and via periodic small- and large-scale presentations. Develop yearly/seasonal/weekly category merchandise financial plans (sales, margin, inventory and turn) in accordance with company goals, historical performance and trend analysis. Present strategies to Senior Management. Analyze and reforecast the business and recommend/implement strategies to maximize opportunities and minimize risk. Support the leadership team in the seasonal, annual, and long-range strategic and financial planning across a wide array of vendor (direct and external), customer, and merchandising segments. Influences inventory levels and allocation strategies to stay in line with the turn and inventory plan. Lead execution and measures performance against the business planning and product creation calendars to drive timely and informed decision making. Maintain high levels of promotional product availability during promotional periods while minimizing aging and discontinued inventory levels. Develop key, new and one-time buy items plans and then partner with Merchandise Buyers to adjust inventory levels where appropriate. Conduct detailed post-season or post-event analysis, leveraging customer data when appropriate, and present insights and recommendations to leadership team. Actively create and lead special projects that drive growth opportunities. Use consumer insights and data combined with a structured test and learn approach to maximize growth opportunities. Support Senior Leadership to present within various strategic meetings for the division (i.e., Direction Setting, Marketing Execution meetings, Line Reviews, Open-To-Buy, Vendor, SIOP, MBR, QBR, and other meetings) Integrate all processes and systems to fully optimize accuracy, efficiency, inventory productivity, and financial productivity.
