Position Information:Position title: Senior Buyer / PlannerLocation: Plymouth, MN 55442Duration: 12+ months [Strong possibility for extension] Position description / Requirement:Summary of Position:? The Senior Buyer/Planner manages all aspects of procurement, planning, and supplier relationship management. Identifies cost saving opportunities, risk within the supply chain, and understands supplier capacity and effect on supply and planning. Scope Of Duties/Position description:(Describe the activities that will be performed on a regular basis).? Manage all aspects of the material acquisition process, including MRO R&D, tooling, and components.? Planning for long-range blanket orders for MRO and components, purchase order strategy, and tactical supply info such as safety stock, lead time, obsolescence (end of life) packaging, JIT, etc.? Proficient knowledge of purchasing raw components required for FDA regulated manufacturing environment.? Negotiate purchase orders, to meet long-range quality delivery and cost targets, work order creation, issue, and close out.? Responsible for Delegation of authority.? Actively participate in a strategic supplier selection and qualification process? Identify and develop process improvements within purchasing, planning, or other areas of the business.? Mentor buyer/planner I as required.? Material sourcing, participant in supplier qualification and survey.? Liaison between supplier and Client.? Ensure adherence to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), ISO 13485, and manage on-going compliance to the Client Quality System.? Procure and plan per the Material Requirements Plan (MRP). Accountable for MRP system performance and improvements. (i.e. lead times, item master, ABC codes, reorder points, safety stock, etc)? Communication: Routine and outstanding communication both verbally and written to people inside and outside the company and upper management.? Demonstrate analytical skills; High-level background working with Excel required (i.e., creating spreadsheets and manipulating data). Intermediate level of background with MS suite software (Power Point, Ms word, etc.)? Expertise to partner well with others (across functions and company boundaries)? Interacts with a variety of technical and non-technical managers and engineers.? Demonstrate tactical analytical skills balancing order fulfillment priorities pertaining to open orders versus inventory, freight costs versus service levels and quickly determine the correct decision based on product availability to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery goals.? Strong analytical and people skills with the expertise to work in a team environment. Excellent with multitasking, follow- up and execution of assignments. Possess good time management and prioritization skills? Maintain PO, Approved Supplier List, and supplier contact info? Proactive in corrective action and preventative action for internal customers or external suppliers? Perform assigned duties without close supervision? Purchasing lead in departmental cross functional projects? Support of the finance function in monthly closes and periodic audits.? Develop, draft and negotiate supplier and distribution agreements in accordance with Client policies. Ensure adherence to contracts and agreements Min Requirements:? Education: Degree or equivalent work background. Skills/Requirements:? 7-9yrs purchasing and/or planning background or equivalent work background.? APICS or C.P.M. certification a plus.? BPCS background a plus Other Requirements:? Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards.? Proficient in ms word processing, spreadsheets and MRP.? Expertise to perform activities to support product development, administration, manufacturing, and other company activities or other duties as assigned.
