Role Overview: The incumbent serves as a Seasonal State Worker at the INDOT Vincennes District Testing Department and will be responsible for assisting the Department with field investigations, transporting material samples, and documentation of material performance. Salary: This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $15.00 an hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. Location: This position is located in INDOT's Evansville Area. A Day in the Life: Assistant to the District Materials Engineer Conduct Data Entry into Department Worksheets Transport Samples from Suppliers/Producers to the District Testing Labs Learn Testing Procedures and Material Evaluations Document Material Performance for Communication with other Internal Departments. Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures Performs Miscellaneous Labor Tasks What You'll Need for Success: Valid high school diploma or GED preferred; or one (1) year of work experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for long periods of time. Computer experience preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
