In this vital role you will be part of the Amgen Translational Immunology and Safety Sciences group based in South San Francisco, CA. We area dedicated versatile Scientist to independently conduct immune-related safety assessment experiments to support Oncology, Inflammation and Cardio-metabolic pipeline programs at Amgen. Responsibilities: Design, perform and analyze in vitro immune cell-based assays to support safety assessments of Amgen's pipeline molecules Support the development of new assays/technology to assess potential safety risks and off-target effects Collaborate closely and communicate effectively with colleagues within the Translational Safety organization and cross-functional teams Perform literature-based evaluations to support pipeline projects and contribute to project development Win What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The qualified professional we seek is a Scientist with these qualifications. Basic Qualifications: PhD in the field of immunology or immuno-oncology or Master's degree with 2 years of research experience in the field of immunology or immuno-oncology or Bachelor's degree with 4 years of research experience in the field of immunology or immuno-oncology Preferred Qualifications: The candidate should be able to independently initiate and drive projects, and intellectually contribute to project development The candidate is expected to have basic immunology training and strong cellular immunology and cell culture technical skills The candidate should have experience performing cellular immunological techniques, including in vitro immune cell assays, multi-color flow cytometry, and ELISA/MSD/Luminex utilizing primary immune cells The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly motivated, creative and collaborative The candidate has demonstrated a track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in the area of immunology Thrive What you can expect of us As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates' professional and personal growth and well-being.Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan comprising health and welfare plans for staff and eligible dependents, financial plans with opportunities to save towards retirement or other goals, work/life balance, and career development opportunities including: Comprehensive employee benefits package, including a Retirement and Savings Plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
