Position: School Psychologist Position type: Full Time Position location (School): First Philadelphia Department: Special Education Department Reports to: Director of Special Education Employment status: Exempt Employment duration: 12 Months Position Summary: Conduct psychoeducational evaluation of students suspected of needing special education. The psychoeducational evaluation consists of standardized cognitive and academic achievement testing, as well as social/emotional/behavioral ratings scales from parents and teachers. The results of the tests are used to help determine a student's eligibility for special education. Major Responsibilities Write the findings of the evaluation into a comprehensive report. Participates in MTSS data review in order to identify students and develop tier 2 interventions. Administer standardized cognitive and achievement tests. Administer social/emotional/behavioral ratings scales from parents and teachers. Responsible for conducting interviews with teachers and parents to identify student's strengths, weaknesses and developmental history. Report the findings of the evaluation to parents and teachers at IEP meetings. Consult with teachers and other administrators to review intervention data. Participate in MTSS child study team in order to provide clinical input, interventions, and solutions for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Interventions and/or referral for testing for special education services Crisis Intervention Team member will provide clinical recommendation for referrals to Crisis Intervention Active participant in professional development relevant to expertise and/or content area(s) Active participant in CSC, PBIS, and other school wide initiatives Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Therapy and Counseling Education and Training Critical Thinking Active Listening Writing Service Orientation Speaking Time Management Judgment and Decision Making Monitoring Organization Compliance Progress Monitoring and data analysis Special Education Law and Timelines Technology Skills Google Suites Education and certifications Certification requirement Master's Degree PA Certification Physical Requirements Sitting Walking Standing Talking Pushing Driving Lifting 20-25 Lbs. Moving Up and Down from a seated position Restrainingstudents (training required) American Paradigm Schools are Caring School Communities.
