The City of Penticton is looking to fill the position of Roads and Drainage Supervisor in our Public Works Department. The Public Works department keeps our community safe by managing the road, sidewalk infrastructure, manages storm-water drainage to help prevent flooding in our community, as well as the parks and cemetery, and collects your garbage and recycling. To help support these services, as well as those delivered by other departments, the Public Works department also manages the City's fleet of vehicles. Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Roads and Drainage Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance operations of the roads, sidewalks and drainage infrastructure as well as the operation of the sewage waste composting facility. The incumbent also plans, organizes, leads and controls operations including procurement, maintenance, asset preservation, safe work practices and crew development through regulations, sustainable best practices, corporate policies, and procedures. This position oversees a team of 19 in addition to seasonal employees. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Administration of snow and ice control operations. Road and sidewalk maintenance operations. Traffic signs, traffic control and road marking operations. Sewage waste composting operations. Daily staff management for safe productive public works operations. Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills: Proficient verbal communication and writing skills sufficient to draft documents, including technical reports, procurement documents, equipment specifications, procedures and policies.
