POSITION SUMMARY: The Y-Haven Resident Life Manager will manage non-clinical assistance and support to residents, working to strengthen community life at Y-Haven. The Resident Life Manager will support and enhance the residential community of Y-Haven by working with residents and staff to organize and manage an array of community activities. The position will foster client engagement, accountability and retention. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Community Activities : Promote, manage and enhance resident community activities: Recreation (softball, basketball, etc) Exercise (YMCA, Lonnie Burton Rec Center, Y-Haven exercise room, etc.) Alternative Therapies: Yoga, Meditation, Art, Music, Field trips, retreats, picnics, parties, tournaments, etc. Drama : Organize and manage residents participating in the Y-Haven/CPT Play Peer Committees : Manage resident Peer Committees whose role is to support new Y-Haven residents Weekend Activities : Organize and manage resident engagement activities on weekends New Residents : Provide opportunities for new residents to engage with Y-Haven community Alumni : Organize Y-Haven alumni engagement activities and events Volunteers : Organize and manage non-resident volunteers seeking to engage with Y-Haven residents Life-Skills : Organize and manage resident life-skills training such as housekeeping, cooking, grocery shopping, computer skills, etc. Health Events : Organize resident health events (eg., flu shots, COVID-Testing, attend health fairs, etc.) Community Service : Create opportunities for resident Community Service (each Y-Haven resident must engage in 3 hours of weekly community service). Client Chores : Create and manage accountability system for required resident chores Food & Clothing : Organize and manage food and clothing donations and distribution to residents Reporting : Systematically report to Y-Haven leadership on client engagement activities and community impact QUALIFICATIONS: High school or equivalent (Required) Higher education in psychological, social, activities or mental health counseling (Preferred) Driver's License (Required) Professional experience organizing community activities: 1 year (Preferred) Recreational Therapy Certification (Preferred) Leadership qualities and ability to work well with others in implementing the activities program (Required) Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once (Required) Proven ability to initiate new projects/events and follow-through to completion (Required) Proven ability to personally engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds (Required) Certification(s) and Requirements: CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire. Common Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Be visibly involved w/residents, volunteers and staff in a positive, friendly manner that communicates and demonstrates the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. 2. Follows all established YMCA and Y-Haven policies and procedures, including but not limited to, safety practices and personnel policies. 3. Participate in and support association events and fund raising activities. 4. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. 5.
